Following is a catalogue of Definitions, Beliefs, and Standards held by the
mods of this page. If you disagree you're still welcome to follow, but you
should maintain awareness that this is a tenet of the page's values.
FYI: Exclusionists & gatekeepers will be banned on sight.
Bambi: A lesbian who is more interested in cuddling than sex.
Tribade: The original term used to describe a sapphic. Initially defined as
‘awoman who engages in scissoring, "tribade" eventually came to
represent wiw as a whole; this term was taken over by "lesbian", which
was more popular at the time. "Lesbian" was interchangeable with
“sapphic” until about the 1970s or s0.)
Sapphic: Similar to WLW (woman-loving-woman), a sapphic person is a
non-man who loves other non-men. This includes nonbinary people and
multisexuals who are also attracted to men.
Lesbian: A non-man who is exclusively attracted to other non-men.
Lesbianism has always included gender variant people and is not
restricted to binary women or female-aligned people.
M-Spec: (Multisexual Spectrum) An umbrella term representing people
Who are attracted to multiple genders.
Bisexual: Attraction to 2+ genders, but not necessarily all. Anyone can be
bisexual. Some people identify their bisexuality as "same + different.”
Pansexual: Attraction to all genders. Some emphasize that their attraction
is not influenced by gender in any way.
Gay: An umbrella term that can be used by anyone who experiences
same gender attraction. One doesn't need to be exclusively SGA to call
themselves gay.
Nonbinary: A trans person who is something other than strictly male or
strictly female. This can mean both, neither, or something different
entirely (and combinations thereof). “Not all nonbinary people ID as trans,
but all are welcome to do so!
N-bifenby: Nonbinary folx who identify as "enby" are welcome to use the
term, but many people find it condescending and infantilizing so it should
not be used as an umbrella term. "n-bi/nbi" (pronounced en-bye) is what
the page will be using as shorthand for nonbinary going forward.
NB: This page prioritizes the needs of BPOC, and so "NB" will be used to
mean non-black, as in "Non-Black Person of Colour.”
Binarism: Oppression based on the belief that there are only 2 genders.
Asexual/Aromantic: (Ace/Aro, aspec) Defined by a lack of sexual and/or
romantic attraction.
Demisexual: An ace person who experiences conditional attraction after a
deep mental bond has been formed.
Queerplatonic: A form of intimacy experienced by aspec people. It is
considered to be an emotion separate from romantic bonding and
platonic friendship. QP Partnerships often represent close non-sexual
bonds between sapphics who consider their relationship deeply intimate
but not accurately described by romantic or platonic love.
Butch: A deconstruction of traditional masculinity expressed through a
variation of LGBTQ identities.
Femme: A deconstruction of traditional femininity expressed through a
variation of LGBTQ identities.
Queer: An umbrella term that includes any non-cis, non-het person who
feels it applies to them. Queer is a deliberately nebulous identifier meant
to embrace people who feel unsure about more specific labels.
Q: An offset of ‘queer’ used with respect to people who may find the full
word triggering.
Gatekeeping: Claiming someone is not X enough to identify as ¥. Often
involves shifting goalposts of what it means to be Y. A common example
of gatekeeping is when butch/femme are referred to as lesbian-only
terms that are off-limits to other sapphics.
Exclusionist: Typically, someone who is against Queer being included in
LGBT. Any labels that aren't strictly Lesbian Woman, Gay Man, Bisexual
Wo/Man, or Trans Wo/Man are often rejected as valid parts of the
community. Excluded identities include (but are not limited to):
‘Asexuality/Aromanticism, Nonbinary, Intersex.

Mod. The original eldritch gender monstress.
Mod Kitten (She/They): Black demisexual, polyro-genderfiuid femme
lesbeing. Whimsical Mod. Pos vibes for dank times.
Mod Panther (They/She): Black, bisexual, GNC, and chronically ll
Aesthetic Mod. Has a lot of opinions, but you might not hear them.
Mod Shark (shi/hir/hirs and she/her/hers): Maverique fluid demigirl
lesbian. Tough Mod. She's a hammerhead shark because she's the
primary wilder of the banhammer.
