Why the fuck we talk about gender identity in sexuality if people
still separate trans from cis?
TLDR: I'm quoting what animalsam said to sum up my post “So it really isn't about being attracted or not
attracted to me, it's about whether you treat us as our gender and not some third category or, worse, our
biological sex. That hurts and isn't cool. [...]We can separate sexuality and gender all day, but in the minds of
many cis people, a man attracted to a transwoman is gay”
The more | interact with people, the more | realize (with bitterness) that sexual/romantic orientation shouldn't include
gender identity. I'm extremely offended when | hear someone says “I love men and women ) But I'm sorry | won't date
trans people, I'm not attracted to them"....don't get me wrong, I'm not offended because they aren't attracted to us,
I'm offended because they literally separate us from cis people even though....trans men are men and trans women
are women...hello, we share the same gender as cis people??277227
But AH, guess what....my gender isn't the problem here...turns out my biological sex and my whole body are 3 At this
point, I'd be less offended if they say “I'm into XX body, not XY" cuz at least, they won't have any excuse to reject
trans/NB people as fucking garbage??? What are we to them exactly?? Some weird looking human with fucked up
body parts??7? Guess we aren't pure enough, not like cis people
I'm sorry if that sounds horrible or offensive, I'm just so hurt by all of this, I've come to the conclusion that people
don't actually care about our gender identity when it comes to sexuality, they will simply never see us as anything else
than our biological sex.
I'm a guy, but If | hear “I'm attracted to men” from a cis person, all | can hear is “I'm attracted to penis and flat chest,
fuck your gender identity Imao" ‘cause | know they wouldnt consider me as a man. Fuck no, I'm just someone with
boobs and a vagina. I'm far from being a "true" guy.
EDIT: I'm not talking about preferences. People have preferences, that's natural. | like everyone but | prefer
masculine looking individuals. My issue is when people always assimilate sexuality and gender identity
together but don't mean it. Recently, | saw someone say, to a trans woman, that they're only attracted to
women, therefore they're not attracted to her..........do you see the problem in this situation? Clearly that
person should have said they're only into vaginas or whatever in order to avoid invalidating that trans woman's
identity. We get constantly misgendered that way, and I'm SO sick of it, | wish we could just stop implying that
people love someone for their gender identity if that's not even close to the truth.
