Posted this comment on a thread, but just wanted to vent to you all about how much casual transphobia is thrown
around in anything about dating trans people:
I hate being reminded that we're extremely undesirable to most of society. I hate that I get to read a full thread of
people saying that being trans instantly disqualifies you as a valid romantic interest regardless of any actual details
about you. And then a whole bunch of other cis people going "Yeah of course it's cool to just write off every trans
person ever it's just preference, totally not discriminatory at all to write off a subset of people cause of an
uncontrollable medical condition/inherit part of their existence”.
Which the truth of this is that people dont see is as our gender unless we're stealth to them anyway. We're treated as
some sort of weird undesirable gender the second people know we're trans.
Just go ahead and let somebody who genders you correctly know you're trans and watch them start misgendering you
"accidentally" from that point onward. The amount of cis people who respect my spouse and I is less than 10.
Thank goodness I'm married and we're both transitioning together cause dating looks like it would make me blow my
brains out.
